Clubs and Parents - the key to sporting success
The role of parents in sport is both misunderstood and under-appreciated. While coaches have the responsibility to help athletes develop the physical, mental, technical, tactical and strategic skills necessary to compete in sport, parents have a considerably important role in helping their children to develop essential life skills including values (honesty, integrity, humility, respect, selflessness, a work-ethic, commitment, confidence etc), character, independence and self-responsibility.
Sport is a partnership where the athlete, the coach and the parent work together in helping the athlete to realise their full potential as athletes and as human beings.
Wayne’s Club Solutions presentation will discuss the role of parents in sport. It will present parents with clear, practical and effective strategies to help their children become all they can be. Wayne will share his experiences working with clubs, sport organisations and athletes around the world and how parents are influencing, supporting and indeed enhancing their child's sporting experiences and performances through quality parenting.
